I want to
present a short narration about our history. Started in 1965, at the age
of 19 when Antonio joined the Bank of Republic (mines of Coscues and Muso) And
in the stoning workshop he learned to carve emeralds, and he got the first
class degree at the beginning of the year, after this they trust him the
highest quality gems to run different types of carving and got
the maximum beauty and the highest prices in the export market. In this
appointment he was only two years and then he retreated to open his
own stoning shop at the center of Bogotá, Colombia, where he took to
carve emeralds, learned to trade with precious and semiprecious stones and
dedicated himself to research about the physico-chemical molding and
composition of natural crystals. He gets delighted with that microcosm of
crystallography, its stunning beauty, the different proprieties they process,
their hardness scales, the refraction of light through the prisms through which
identify crystals and finally the wide variety of gemstones found in nature,
esoteric virtues attributed to them.
Then he
ventured into the jewelry field, he contacted the most important
jewelers-craftsmen of the era, they were so good and most of the spenders ended
up working in large workshops in Europe and U.S.A, I feel that their work is
very fine but his style is classic and traditional. So we present our pioneering
proposal where we handle the volume and shape with a modern sculpture concept,
breaking the traditional pattern, developing a unique style, achieving stand
out the natural beauty of the gems and metals. Finally our work does not
consist in the industrialized production of serial weights, it consists in the
manual and artistic confection of each jewel, creating unique art
works.
